In the wake of devastating floods that have ravaged Borno State, Nigeria, CHAD International, in partnership with PLAN International and with generous support from the Dutch Relief Alliance, has launched critical emergency water trucking operations to provide life-saving assistance to affected communities.

The recent floods have severely impacted access to clean water sources, significantly increasing the risk of waterborne diseases such as cholera and typhoid. Recognizing the urgent need for safe drinking water, CHAD International has mobilized its resources to deliver clean water directly to those most in need.

One such example is in Gwange II Ward, MMC LGA, where CHAD International has commenced emergency water trucking to the Talakari community. The primary water source in the community, the Albarka WASH Borehole, Layin Ba’ana Ustad, is currently non-functional, leaving an estimated 15,000 people without access to safe drinking water.

"We are very happy they provided us with water because water is the first thing needed by humans," Says Bulama Malana reflecting the gratitude of the Talakari community for the life-saving intervention.
