CHAD ECHO FUNDED PROJECT: Strengthening Resilience through Multi-Sectoral Response Project

Center for Community Health and Development CHAD International is seeking qualified and dedicated individuals to join our team in implementing the ECHO-funded project, "Strengthening Resilience through Multi-Sectoral Response in Borno, Zamfara, and Sokoto States." This project aims to address the urgent humanitarian needs of affected populations in the Northeast and Northwest regions of Nigeria.

Project Overview

In partnership with The International Rescue Committee (IRC) Deutschland GGMBH, CHAD International will be implementing the ECHO-funded project in Gwoza LGA, Borno State. The project focuses on the Education in Emergencies sector and aims to provide critical support to vulnerable populations.

Job Summary: The Finance Officer will be responsible for the financial management of the project, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and compliance with financial regulations. This role involves overseeing budgeting, expenditure tracking, and financial reporting.

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in financial management, preferably in NGO settings.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage the project budget in accordance with donor regulations.

  • Monitor project expenditures against the approved budget.

  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to donors and management.

  • Maintain proper financial records and documentation.

  • Conduct regular financial reviews and reconciliations.

  • Support the procurement and payment processes.

  • Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.

  • Develop a Grant Tracking Tool to monitor grant utilization and compliance.

  • Develop a comprehensive Finance Policy outlining financial management procedures.

  • Conduct regular Bank Reconciliations to verify account balances.

  • Maintain a detailed Cash Book (soft copy) to record cash transactions.

  • Develop an Antifraud Policy to prevent and detect fraud.

  • Develop a Foreign Exchange Policy to manage currency exchange transactions.

  • Develop a Budget Tracking Tool to monitor budget performance.

  • Conduct regular Cash Flow Analysis to manage cash flow effectively.

  • Develop an Internal Control Matrix to assess financial risk and controls.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in financial management, preferably in NGO settings.

  • Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles and practices.

  • Proficiency in financial software (e.g., QuickBooks, Excel).

  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
